{[Μυτιληναῖοι δὲ ὡς]} {[ᾔσθοντο] [τὸν ἐπίπλουν] [τῶν δέκα νεῶν]} καί {[τινες ἐμήνυσαν] (the τινες placed in front of the verb may be locking it into the first section) [αὐτοῖς] (the placement / grouping the datives will probably indicate the number of types of datives recignised by the acients or at least allow us to intelligently / authentically categorise datives of the various kinds) [τὴν ἁρπαγὴν]} {[ἐλθόντες] [ἐκ] [τῶν ἀγρῶν]}, {[οὐκ] [ἀνασχετὸν] [νομίσαντες]} {[ταῦτα] [ἐκ Μηθυμναίων] (the ἐκ here may be specific to this speech style) [παθεῖν]}, {[ἔγνωσαν] [καὶ αὐτοὶ] (the adverbal καὶ with a pronoun is not relatively strong enough to stand alone) [τὴν ταχίστην]} {[ἐπ̓ αὐτοὺς] [ὅπλα] [κινεῖν]}: [2] καὶ {[καταλέξαντες] [ἀσπίδα] [τρισχιλίαν] καὶ [ἵππον πεντακοσίαν](the double unit seems to be a way to repeat part of the structure within a single speech style)} {[ἐξέπέμψαν] [κατὰ γῆν] [τὸν στρατηγὸν Ἵππασον](here στρατηγὸν is functioning adjectivally)}, {[ὀκνοῦντες] [ἐν ὥρᾳ χειμῶνος] (this seems to be together because it is a fixed phrase collocation - the three part analysis is a way to identify set phrases) [τὴν θάλατταν]}.
